Padla Bear Outfit is one of the mastodons of the 00s Russian underground, whose work has influenced the development of contemporary music and has given the independent scene a benchmark. Arseny Morozov (Sonic Death, Arseny the Baptist) began his career as an anti-folk performer and recorded home videos with an acoustic guitar. The listeners showed great interest in the musician's original journey, and journalists everywhere praised the track and album of the same name "Hipster".
Arseny quickly found like-minded people: Evgeny Pisarev - the guitarist of the noise group Pharaons and drummer-percussionist Danila Holodkov, who soon joined Lemonday and Shokalsky Revenge. In 2009-2010 the PBO trio recorded 3 LPs: "Musor", "Nichego" and "Halkolivan". Later the line-up of the group changed, and in 2010-2011 there were 3 concept releases: "7", "I AM" and "Slow". All Padla's recordings differ from each other in their presentation, energy and idea.
Throughout its existence, the group has released only 3 physical CD releases: a collection of early works on the Sreda label, a self-made CD-r "Hipster" and (according to rumors) a mini-CD-r "7" ". It is almost impossible to find these rarities now, and the archives of records wander the Internet like lost ghosts.
The most recent release of the "classic" PBO line-up came out 10 years ago - a conceptual mini-album "Slow", dark and viscous, recorded in the witch house style. In 2020, Zhenya provided us with original recordings of this work, which consisted of 2 sessions: album tracks and demo versions. We found that these sessions are extremely interesting not only in historical context, but also in sound, and one of the tracks was never published. So we decided to give Slow a new lease on life.
Arseniy himself painted on canvas a new cover and a backdrop for the envelope, which were used in the design of the disc. Sound engineer Pavel Eremeev remastered the album and vinyl mastering, as well as "combed" the demo recordings. The vinyl will be released in 3 colors with a bonus track - "Iguana" and will be completed with a CD with demo recordings "Slow", the artwork for which was done by the keyboardist of the group - Polina Chizhova.
